They check if you have all the necessary documents and that everything is correct and that you meet the legal requirements. After this, they then make their decision. This takes up to 15 days to do. During the processing time, no questions can be answered about the processing status.

During the processing of your application, your passport remains at the German Mission. It can only be returned to you through their external service provider, TLSconnect after they have processed your application and you’ll have to go there to collect it.

If your visa is declined, a refusal letter will be sent to you from the German Mission. The letter will detail their reasons for refusal and legal remedies. A new application can be submitted anytime after refusal, makes sure that you adhered to the legal remedies suggested and have verifiable documents.

Once your visa has been approved, you need to check that everything is correct and that there are no mistakes. You need to check the start date of your trip and end date. Make sure that your names are spelt correctly and the number of entries you were granted. If there are any mistakes on your passport you must inform the service provider, but bear in mind that they cannot be held responsible if you submitted incorrect data or a missing signature on your travel documents.
